The Australian Academy of Nursing endeavours to provide the students with facilities and other resources that will assist them in their smooth transition to Australian education system.
FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
Our training site at 100 Victoria Parade East Melbourne is right across from St Vincentís Hospital (both Public and Private ) and is surrounded by day surgery and medical specialist centres so students are always exposed to the medical field whichever way they turn! Our classrooms are equipped with data projectors and the clinical laboratory has state of the art equipment (approved by the Nurses Board of Victoria) with life-like mannequins that students can use to practise their nursing skills on such as CPR, manual handling, vital signs, wound care and medication administration, among others.
A similar classroom and laboratory set up can be found at the Sydney Private Hospital in Ashfield NSW where students meet up for their weekly goal setting sessions whilst at clinical placement in Sydney. Whatís more, the classroom is within hospital premises so students have access to hospital equipment and other resources-thereí s no better way to learn than learn within the real environment and not simply simulation.
LIBRARY RESOURCES
Students are required to develop sound research skills as a requirement of the professional nursing profession. To this end, all our students have complete access to the University of Ballaratís online library resources anytime, any day so they donít have to physically walk into a library building to do their research work.
Furthermore, the Australian Academy of Nursing assists the students to have access to these online resources even whilst they are away from their classroom and theory sessions through the provision of laptops with internet connection in the hospitals where they are doing their clinical placements in. (both VIC and NSW).
STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
Our student support services go beyond the academia. We provide extended support in all aspects of their lives whilst staying here in Australia such as assisting with transport and accommodation, health and other related services, job placement, interview tips and the like.
